The Role of Vitamin A in Anti-Ageing

When it comes to taking care of your skin, the process is quite simple. Cleanse, tone, moisturize, keep it protected from the UV rays by applying sunscreen and for that extra glow eat healthy. Vitamin A plays a really important role when it comes to lines, wrinkles and anti-ageing in our skin. There a few nutrients that your skin needs – and Vitamin A is one of them. Either you make it a part of your everyday diet and use beauty products that include Vitamin A to keep your skin radiant and healthy.

Vitamin A has two types; one is called retinoids and the other is called carotenoids. Here’s what happens when you feed your body vitamin A. It protects against UV damage and slows signs of ageing. Most of your vitamin A intake comes from eating foods rich in beta-carotene and provitamin A carotenoids, which are potent antioxidants or as mentioned early applying Vitamin A products directly to your skin. Retinol is responsible for the production of new healthy skin cells

Foods That Contain Vitamin A:

There are many foods that contain vitamins A that you can add in your diet for a better and healthier skin that will age slower keeping you younger and glowing. If you add these foods in your diet according to your preference, you can successfully achieve healthier skin.

Animal products that contain vitamin A include; eggs, fish, shrimp, dairy products, salmon, etc. Whereas, plant products that contain vitamin A include; carrots, tomatoes, fruits like apricots and plums as well as leafy green vegetables such as spinach and kale, etc.

Benefits of Vitamin A for Skin:

Vitamin A has endless benefits for your skin. If you make it a part of your everyday diet or choose a good skin product that contains vitamin A, you will get to see the many benefits of it such as;

1. Acne-Free Skin

Acne is a skin problem that comes with age however, many people fail to fix it the right way. These acne pimples tend to grow when dead skin cells and oil covers up your skin pores. Vitamin A creams help in clearing the pores and keeping them open for breathing fresh air.

2. Even Skin Tone

Vitamin A works like magic when it comes to shifting your skin cells over thus getting rid of the rough, dry and pigmented skin cells. Vitamin A also helps in reducing the enzyme that is responsible for the pigmentation on your skin. This helps you gain an even skin tone with no blemishes or discoloration.

3. Wrinkle Free Skin

Vitamin A is known for getting rid of wrinkles as it tends to tighten the skin cells by producing more new ones. If a skincare routine is adopted on a daily basis, the benefits are many.

4. Skin Cell Production & Anti-Ageing

There are many layers of our skin which makes the consumption of vitamin A very necessary. The problems with skin tone, wrinkles, and acne arise when all the skin layers do not get enough of vitamin A that consists of retinal, retinol and retinoic acid. They are responsible for the production of skin cells along with fibroblasts, which are skin tissues that are responsible for keeping the skin tight and wrinkle-free.
